There were 81 members of the Royal Army Pay Corps (RAPC) who were killed in action or by enemy action as listed in the World War 2 Roll Of Honour contained in the RAPC Journal Spring 1946 Edition. He worked for the Treasurer's Department of East Grinstead Council and served in the Scots Guards before being transferred to the RAPC. He was killed by a bomb while at the house of his fiancée, Brenda Covington. He was the only person killed, all the others in the house at 48 Compton Road, Wimbledon, Surrey were wounded. On the War Memorial he is listed as 'Sydney Terry'

Captain Weston and his wife were killed when a Land Mine landed on the Springfield Hotel at the bottom of the High Street (now known as Hathersage Road).The Army Pay Corps was based at Pownalls on Stockport Road.

WW1 Medal records list the issue of the British Medal to 999 WO Class 2 EC Weston of the Army Pay Corps. So it would appear that he had joined the APC prior to WW1 as there is no service record available under WW1 archives. The London Gazette records his appointment as Lt (Asst Paymr) from SSM on 5 Nov 1940.
