Major General O J Kinahan CB
Paymaster-in-Chief 1979-1983
Initially commissioned into the Royal Irish Fusiliers in December 1942, he transferred to the RAPC as a Captain in August 1951.
As a senior officer his postings included HQ BAOR as a Lt Col in Dec 1971, Command Paymaster BAOR as a Colonel from 1973 and then Commandant of the Training Centre at Worthy Down. In December 1975 he was promoted to Brigadier and took up the post at HQ UKLF.
Maj Gen Kinahan was Paymaster-in-Chief from March 1979 to March 1983 and Colonel Commandant of the Royal Army Pay Corps from 1984 until 1987. He was appointed CB on 13th June 1981.
